Valerie Presolly is a sustainability expert with fifteen years of experience at the intersection of sustainability and business. Valerie has defined, designed, and delivered sustainability strategy for start-ups and mature businesses alike, and leverages her expertise to help organization on their sustainability journey. Valerie joined Vancity in August of 2022 to oversee and support the development and execution of the credit union’s response to the climate crisis. In her role, Valerie leads implementation of Vancity’s commitment to become Net Zero across its mortgages and loans by 2040. Valerie joined Vancity from Anthesis Group, a sustainability consultancy, where she advised Fortune 500 companies across the retail, apparel, finance, CPG and tech industries on Net Zero strategy and broader Sustainability Strategy. Prior to that, Valerie worked for an organic cannabis producer, developing their inaugural sustainability strategy and the industry’s first-ever ESG report, and spent 9 years leading sustainability at Mountain Equipment Co-op. She holds an MBA in strategy and sustainability from the University of British Columbia and an undergraduate degree in international business from the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration. In her spare time, she can be found exploring the BC outdoors with her husband and two young kids.
