Walter holds P. Eng degree and has been a proponent of alternate energy, cleantech and energy efficient housing since graduating with a B.Sc (Honours) in Engineering–Physics back in the 70’s. In the early 80’s he built a passive solar, earth-sheltered house in Nova Scotia. In 2005 he built a super-insulated passive solar home using insulated concrete forms, with solar thermal and PV systems, in British Columbia. The home is currently Energuide 86. Walter has over 45 years in the production management environment and has been an ASQ Certified Quality Engineer since 1994. He has approximately 8 patents in design and energy efficiency.
